Humanities Major

The Humanities Major in the Department of Humanities offers a carefully conceived, well-integrated interdisciplinary curriculum that meets a wide range of student needs. The program emphasizes the Department’s commitment to being diverse, crossing traditional disciplinary boundaries, and being socially engaged in research and teaching.  As a result, the Humanities Major is strong in both traditional fields (religion, philosophy, history, literature) and non-traditional academic fields (diaspora studies, digital humanities, cultural studies, etc.). By bringing together the research and teaching expertise of some of the best interdisciplinary scholars working across established geographic and historical fields, the Department is able to offer courses diverse across time and space that are reflective of the multi-ethnic context of the world in which we live.
